New Jersey’s child care crisis impacts everyone.

Without affordable child care, young children miss out on fundamental brain-building opportunities. Parents – especially mothers – face the impossible choice of working and struggling to afford child care or leaving the workforce altogether. Employers can't recruit and retain talent, and our economy can't grow.

With a governor’s race and all 80 Assembly seats up for election on November 4, 2025, it's time for child care — especially for infants and toddlers — to be a high priority in New Jersey’s policy agenda.

 We call on New Jersey’s next governor and state leadership to 

  • Make child care affordable for New Jersey families, 

  • Strengthen the child care workforce, and 

  • Commit to long-term investment that supports child care like the essential infrastructure it is.
